Genre.

Genre is a term of category based on some loose set of stylistic criteria. Genres are formed from the conventions of the subject. Here are some examples of different types of genre:

- Horror
- Thriller
- Crime
- Romance
- Science fiction
- Adventure
- Comedy

Here are some examples of Films and their genre's:

Horror - The Exorcist.
Thriller - Psycho.
Crime - Public enemies.
Romance - Titanic.
Science fiction - Alien.
Adventure - The mask of Zorro.
Comedy - American Pie.








Genre's often include sub genres which are genres within a genre. For example the thriller genre has many sub genres. These are:

  1. Crime thriller - Flightplan.
  2. Mystery thriller - Shutter Island.
  3. Psychological thriller - Phone Booth.
  4. Political thriller - The Manchurian Candidate.
  5. Techo thriller - I Robot.
  6. Supernatural thriller - The Others.
  7. Religious thriller - The Da Vinci code.
